Not everything in the Bible is “front burner stuff.” Some things are localized. Some things are co mingled. In Matthew chapter 24 the disciples asked JESUS about his statement about the destruction of the temple. Their question mingled events that to them were one and the same. JESUS did not burden them with clarifying their question and their views. He left that to them to work through. It would have been very hard for them to accept the amount of time yet to come after the destruction of the temple and the actual end of the age/world.
